Oil Testing and Analysis

ESG’s UKAS Accredited laboratories offer a comprehensive Oil Condition Monitoring service using industry standard analytical procedures, to all industrial sectors.
Our Oil Analysis service identifies:

  • Component wear and predicts potential component failure based on the amount of wear contaminants present in the oil
  • If oil has become contaminated with dirt,  water or other external material and requires changing to prevent damage to components
  • Degradation of the oil where the oil is no longer providing the level of performance required by the equipment.

This enables our customers to:

  • Identify potential component failure
  • Assess oil condition and identify need for oil change based on condition rather periodicity
  • Investigate reasons for component failure
  • Review maintenance schedules and extend maintenance periodicity
  • Compare properties and effectiveness of lubricants.

We offer customers:

24/7 access to a web based reporting and management system that allows multiple user- customers access to review results, identify trends and plan maintenance activities.

Provision of sampling kits which includes such items as bottles, tubing, syringes, labels and pre paid posting tubes or bags to return samples to the laboratory.

Fast turn round and reporting of results (within 4 hours of sample arriving in the laboratory in an emergency).

Expert interpretation of results in order to detect trends and provide critical advice to customers before problems arise.
Technical support and consultancy

These enable customers to provide cost effective maintenance and improved in- service performance.
