Pelorus Surveys
Pelorus Surveys is experienced in a wide range of land geophysical survey techniques used as stand alone or in conjunction with intrusive site investigations.
Land Geophysics
Whether the location is a mountain top or an underground tunnel, a back garden or a sprawling brownfield site, our geophysical surveys provide valuable data to:
-
Rapidly assess sites
-
Optimise and target intrusive site investigations
-
Avoid unseen hazards
-
Provide continuous interpretation
-
Map underground features between isolated borehole locations.
Non intrusive geophysical methods can also be used to provide information where ground disturbance could be potentially harmful to people or the environment such as the search for Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) or mapping of contaminated land. All of our staff hold a CSCS card and individuals have specialised safety qualifications in confined spaces, Network Rail Personal Track Safety and London Underground Line access.
Geophysical Mapping Surveys
Pelorus Surveys' investigations are carried out by qualified and experienced geophysicists enabling on-site interpretation of the data. Surveys can then be adapted in the field to provide optimum results. Using the latest geophysical equipment to acquire data, survey results are positioned using high specification global navigation satellite systems.

Geophysical Down Hole Surveys
Pelorus Surveys is an industry leader in a range of seismic and magnetic methods for use in both down hole and cross hole modes. These techniques are used to assist in the design of foundations, detection of underground cavities, tunnelling operations and geological modelling.

Monitoring Surveys
Pelorus Surveys can carry out periodic monitoring surveys to enable assessments to be made on sensitive structures without drilling thus providing early warning of distress. Remediation can then be undertaken rather than reconstruction. The environmental impact of heavy traffic or machinery can be measured prior to installation of sensitive equipment or the impact on existing communities and surrounding buildings can be assessed. Monitoring schemes are always tailored to the specifics of the problem and can range from routine 'doorstep monitoring' of vibration to sophisticated packages involving state of the art equipment and data processing.
