Company Profile & History
Dr Augustus Voelcker, consulting chemist
to the Royal Agricultural Society, founded the firm in 1863
to provide specialist analytical and consultancy services
to farmers, landowners and the agricultural community in general
both in the UK and overseas.
This was the beginning of Voelcker's 140
years association with soil and landscape science. The firm's
involvement with the broader environment and contaminated
land dates from the 1950s and evolved out of work undertaken
in the field of Agricultural Science.
Voelcker Science was acquired by Eclipse
Scientific Ltd in November 1998. Subsequently, we have expanded
our range of services and now work in the disciplines of Soil
& Landscape Science, Contaminated Land, Waste Management
and the wider environment under the name of Voelcker Consultants.
From our offices in West London, our environmental
consultancy activities include contaminated land and waste
management, soil and landscape science, onsite monitoring
services, dust and air quality work, asbestos surveying activities
and general environmental consultancy work.
We undertake work using the laboratory
services of our group companies, ESGL in addition to other
UKAS accredited partner laboratories. This allows us to provide
our clients in both the public and private sectors with the
necessary information to solve a wide range of environmental
related issues. Voelcker Consultants provide clients with
a comprehensive service and the principal areas of capability
